Hot Holiday Toddy

For the record, before you take these oz pour measurements to heart.. I had a few of these before of writing them down.. Just to make sure I was in love.. So results may vary..

½ oz ginger spice syrup

1/2 oz of honey

½ oz lemon juice

2 oz bourbon whiskey

1 slice of pear

1 cinnamon stick

Cinnamon sugar mix for glass rim..


Ginger spice syrup:

Add a whole fresh peeled and sliced ginger root, 6 whole cloves, a stick of cinnamon, two whole star anise, and two bay leaves…. Just cover with water and bring it to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and reduce by half.. Add one cup of sugar and stir until it dissolves.. Remember it’s just food, don’t be afraid.. Just make it taste good..

Circle the rim of the glass with a lemon wedge and roll it in the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Add honey, ginger syrup, cinnamon stick, pear slice, and bourbon to the glass. Then add lemon juice, and boiling water to fill.  Mix with cinnamon stick..

Sip until the world is peaceful and right…
