We met local organic farmers Scotty and Peggy Campbell at the Lakeland Downtown Curb Farmers Market where we set up The Poor Porker Beignets and Chicory coffee on Saturdays. They're such wonderful people and a wealth of great information.. We couldn't wait to get to their farm and see how the magic is done.
Scotty and Peg focus on Permaculture which simply put is, "Planting, paying attention and working with nature". Beautiful. They strive to teach the community how to organically farm and be more self reliant using these techniques. They also hold classes regularly and have opportunities to work on the farm in exchange for fresh produce.

With just a little research, you should have no trouble finding a local expert or information on how you too can be a part of this resurgence of personally growing your own seasonal fare.
Many thanks to Scotty and Peggy of Barefoot Creek Farms! What an awesome time we had!
